Stage 22 School of Arts
Child Protection:

The most important part of operating Stage 22 is the effective protection and wellbeing of the children. In order to manage and control this, Stage 22 has a vigorous Child Protection Policy. This can be viewed by clicking here.

All Stage 22 staff whether based on site (at schools) or housed in our offices or in marketing/fundraising areas are CRB checked to an enhanced level. Stage 22 do not encourage the use/reliability of portable CRB disclosures and carry out their own prior to any member of staff having direct contact with children.

From time to time, all staff from across the country will meet for a child protection induction day whereby a representative from either the NSPCC or from the local authorities Child Protection department will give all staff a full briefing.

This will include any legislation change together with the correct procedures for handling crisis talks, sensitive situations, reports of abuse and every day child care/education and appropriate practises to put into place. These inductions also take into account the use and control of sensitive data held on file by Stage 22 (such data is also protected by Stage 22’s registration under the Data Protection Act).

Stage 22 have a designated Child Protection Officer who works from the central office on a part time basis and deals solely with licensing children to perform as well as dealing with any potential issues. She can be contacted at childprotection@stage22.co.uk
